Ellies introduces new Board Director

JOHANNESBURG - Oct. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- Ian Russell joined the board of Ellies this week. In a statement this morning Russell stated that he was looking forward to 'bringing a unique focus and depth of perspective to Ellies with his experience, with an ultimate focus on the company's and shareholder's interests.  Manufacturing is at the heart of our economy, and the opportunity to work with a home-grown manufacturing business with the heritage of Ellies is hugely exciting.'

The Board of Ellies welcomed Ian and stated that they were 'looking forward to his contribution to the company'. Ellies is an investment holdings company for businesses involved in the manufacture, trading and distribution of a diverse range of products and services, inclusive of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and satellite products and related accessories, electrical, signal distribution, residential and commercial LED lighting solutions, solar PV, sound and AV equipment distribution and installation.

Ian is the founder and CEO of the Disrupting Consultancy firm, focusing on advising and leading organisations through our ever-changing landscape.

Until June this year, Ian was the CEO of BCX, South Africa's largest technology company with over 10, 000 employees. Before that he was part of the Telkom Exco, at the heart of the organisation's turnaround. He played a major role in SABMiller's global expansion. He was one of the initial architects of the acquisition of ABSA by Barclays in 2005 and managed the post-merger integration.
