Swamped! Book Signing By Author Joe Tennis

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Oct. 25, 2018 - PRLog -- Bristol author Joe Tennis is signing copies of his latest book called Swamped!at the Johnson City Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 3030 Franklin Terrace, on Nov. 7, 4-7 p.m.

"Swamped! (Little Creek Books, 2018, $10.95) follows four teenagers from the suburbs into a saltwater swamp loaded with marsh grass, fiddler crabs, thorns, thickets – and at least one snake," said Tennis, 49, of Bristol, Virginia.

The outspoken teens of this novel are forced to find their way home after breaking an oar on their rowboat, but they constantly get sidetracked in conversations that range from politics and religion to love, cigarettes, and the philosophies of Henry David Thoreau.

"This is a young adult book and a comedic coming-of-age story, loaded with dialogue," said Tennis, a contributing editor for Blue Ridge Country magazine.

Tennis is also signing copies of his most recent ghost tale collection, Haunted Highlands: Ghosts & Legends of North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia (Backyard Books, 2016, $6.99), which features stories of East Tennessee State University, Rotherwood Mansion in Kingsport, Roan Mountain, Tusculum, and the Paramount Theatre of Bristol.

The author's other books include Sullivan County, Tennessee: Images of America and Haunts of Virginia's Ridge Highlands.
