Merck Announces its unique women-oriented initiative - 'Swasth Nari Shashkt Pariwar'

• Partners with non-profit organization Doctors For You. • Addresses the national issue of anaemia among women.

MUMBAI, India - Oct. 22, 2018 - PRLog -- Mumbai, India, March 12, 2018 – Merck, a leading science and technology company, announced its social responsibility program "Swasth Nari Sashkt Pariwar", with the objective of reaching out to women in the age group 18-35ys and encouraging them to come out of their condition of anaemia. In this program Merck will be supported by the not-profit organisation Doctors for You.

Under the first phase of the "Swasth Nari Sashkt Pariwar" program 5000 women from Lallubhai Compound, Mankhurd, Mumbai will undergo anaemia check and those found low on haemoglobin will be supported by Doctors for You over a four months period to take charge of their health and restore the haemoglobin levels. The NGO will focus on raising awareness on the harmful effect of low haemoglobin, improve understanding of the food and medicine supplements to restore haemoglobin and thereby encourage affected women to become anaemia free. An unique aspect of this initiative will be the skill development courses offered to those women who become anaemia free in the four months period.
