LOS ANGELES - Oct. 23, 2018 - PRLog -- The award-winning JazzAntiqua Dance & Music Ensemble celebrates 25 years of jazz ambassadorship with FREEDOM! JAZZ! DANCE! – the final installment in the company's multi-year "breath" trilogy. Enveloping JazzAntiqua's signature style and approach, FREEDOM! JAZZ! DANCE! layers live music, dance, spoken word, song and the music of Gregory Porter, Kamasi Washington and others in a showcase of new works and selections from the ensemble's repertoire. With choreography by founding artistic director Pat Taylor, music direction by Paul Legaspi and Ark Sano, and poetry by special guest Peter J. Harris (2017/18 COLA Fellow - City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs), this milestone event continues JazzAntiqua's meditations on Love, The Blues, Freedom, and Home as major themes throughout the jazz expression and gateways to exploring universal stories that intersect across humanity. Highlights include the inaugural performance of JazzAntiqua's teen ensemble under the direction of company member Keisha Clark-Booth with choreography by Chris Smith. An exhibit by noted visual artists Yrneh Gabon Brown, Karen Guyot Cheval, Michael Massenburg and Carlos Spivey showcasing works interpreting the spirit of JazzAntiqua rounds out the celebration.

Presented in association with Ebony Repertory Theatre and Dance@theHolden, FREEDOM! JAZZ! DANCE! takes place Saturday, December 1, 2018 - 8:00 p.m. at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center - 4718 West Washington Boulevard in Los Angeles. Tickets priced at $25 and $35 can be purchased online at www.ebonyrep.org. For more information, contact the theatre box office at (323) 964-9766.
