Latin Music Series on Staten Island

A series exploring the diversity of Latin American music, with regional variations of salsa and cumbia, Latin jazz and a lot more. The venue is a century-old bar that used to be a speakeasy during the Prohibition years.

A new music series is coming to Staten Island's North Shore, exploring the rich diversity of Latin American music, with regional variations of Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, Bachata, Latin jazz and more.  The series featuring artists from all five boroughs, is launching with five shows during the last two weekends of November and will continue with monthly shows.

The team behind this new venture is a collaboration between the Island's longest-running live music venue Amendment 18 speakeasy bar and grill located at 691 Bay Street, Lilihouse Music, a Brooklyn-born artist agency working with renowned South American artists, and salsa promoters Doco Entertainment and Fuego Fredo, known for their grand salsa nights at St George Theater and the Hilton Hotel.

The series is bound to shake up the North Shore with groovy sounds and rhythms, bringing together the various Latin communities and music lovers of all cultures. Amendment 18 will spice up their menu with homemade tamales and Latin flavors.

Ajinomoto is guitarist Eric Kurimski's new formation alongside renowned Peruvian percussionist/singer Santiago Hernández. The 4-piece band interpret classics of Andean tropical music also known as chicha, pioneered in the 70s by bands like Los Destellos and Juaneco y su Combo.
