BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Nov. 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Tinashe Kajese-Bolden joins the cast of DOT as Shelly. Directed by Tony Award winning director Kenny Leon (director of American Son, starring Kerry Washington), Dot takes a light-hearted look at an illness facing all communities. Through the interactions of widowed matriarch Dotty and her family, mental health in the Black community is explored. As Dotty struggles to hold onto her memory - a result of her Alzheimer's diagnosis - her children must fight to balance care for their mother with care for themselves. Crackling with humor, this dramedy grapples with aging parents, midlife crises, and the strength of family.

The play is currently running at The Billie Holiday Theatre 1368 Fulton Street Brooklyn, NY 11216 until November 18, 2018. DOT is written by Playwright & Tony Nominated Actor Colman Domingo best known for his roles in Selma, Fear the Walking Dead, and The Butler.

Tinashe received great reviews on her performance when DOT was in Atlanta from AJC ,Arts ATL ,and Black Talent Team.

".. Sharp, wisecracking...It's a master class in dynamic acting. Tinashe Kajese-Bolden stands her ground as the eldest daughter, Shelly, a take-charge lawyer and single mother who's increasingly frustrated and stressed out by the day-to-day demands of looking after Dot."

The AJC review

"This is a strong ensemble and one of Leon's most even productions to date. The scenes with the siblings are "laugh out loud" funny, and Shelly's hair takes on a life of its own." ARTSATL review

" Tinashe Kajese-Bolden is captivating and raw as she embodies a successful black woman who takes care of everyone, yet refuses to see her own shortcomings. " Black Talent Team review
