Mike Jones Joins the StarNews Executive Committee

LOS ANGELES CA, August 28, 2018 – We have exciting news to share! Mike Jones, internet executive, investor, strategic advisor, and CEO of Science Inc. has joined the executive committee of the StarNews digital platform. As a strategic advisor, he will bring 20+ years experience to the company to assist in our growth, introduce marketing innovations and further develop a customer-centric approach to operations with stronger data analysis.

A mainstay in the Los Angeles tech scene, Jones knows the ins-and-outs of entrepreneurship. He started his first company in college, and he was previously the CEO of Userplane (acquired by AOL), Tsavo (acquired by Cybermedia), PBJ (acquired by JB), MySpace (acquired by Specific Media), Myspace Japan (acquired by Softbank), and FIM (acquired by Rubicon Project). Since MySpace, he's been heading up Science, a Santa Monica-based startup studio that invests in and fosters media, marketing and commerce startups. Science has had $1.3 billion in exits from its portfolio including HelloSociety (acquired by New York Times), FameBit (acquired by Google) and Dollar Shave Club (acquired by Unilever). Mike served on the board for all three companies. He is also the most active angel investor in Los Angeles and has had an aggregate of $2.5 billion in exits.
