ChildPromise, Inc. to Host 2nd Annual Gala

PHILADELPHIA - Nov. 7, 2018 - PRLog -- ChildPromise, Inc. will hold its 2^nd annual gala on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 6 PM, Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill, PA. The evening's keynote speaker is actor, comedian and former adoptive child, Tommy Davidson. Mr. Davidson is best known as one of the stars of the hit television show, In Living Color. Jennaphr Frederick, Fox29's Good Day Philadelphia reporter will serve as the event emcee.

Each year, the ChildPromise Gala honors advocates for foster children and will present the following awards at this year's event:

• 2018 Irene and Kenneth Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award to Senior Pastor Charles Quann and First Lady Tanya Quann, Bethlehem Baptist Church
  
  
• 2018 ChildPromise Humanitarian Award to Josh Shapiro, Attorney General of Pennsylvania
  
  
• 2018 ChildPromise Leadership Award to Estelle Richman, Former Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

Campbell Walker Fields, a former contestant on America's Got Talent and an adopted young man, will provide musical entertainment. The 2018 Gala event chairs is Victor Salicetti of AmericaVen, LLC of Bethlehem, Pa.

Baptist Children's Services closed its residential facilities in 2014 and has changed its name and focus. Baptist Children's Services has relaunched as ChildPromise, Inc. For many years, ChildPromise Inc. has been supporting and encouraging current and former foster children to pursue higher education or a trade. Today, with the support of donors, volunteers, and community partners, ChildPromise, Inc. is making a difference by raising funds for higher education scholarships and credentialing opportunities for foster youth.

The mission of ChildPromise, Inc. is to change the current statistic that only 1% of children in the foster care system will go onto higher education/credentialization to match the overall 30% of higher education achievement for all Americans.
