By: KRPRmedia To celebrate, its' 60 years, owner Jim Poulos wants to "GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY" with a "COMMUNITY CHALLENGE benefitting Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles "(ICYOLA). THE GOAL.... TO RAISE $60,000! Giving back to the community is not new. Pann's Restaurant has supported numerous organizations throughout the years to include: Ladera Presbyterian Women, Manly Deeds Scholarship Fund, Motivated Men of Dorsey High, The Children's Clinic, The Liquid Project, Churches and the area's local schools to name a few. Poulos created the PANN's Community Challenge, which this year will benefit ICYOLA. "I am so happy to be celebrating Pann's' 60th anniversary with all of you. Los Angeles and our neighboring cities have always supported the restaurant and I feel so lucky to have been able to become a part of each community, and for all of you to be a part of Pann's. Nothing makes me happier than to see young people achieve their dreams and just like I encourage my daughters to do their best and thrive, I encourage the community's young people to be hardworking and courageous, because you are my kids too and I'll always do whatever I can to help you get there. I've watched so many kids grow up in Pann's and I hope other businesses get to have the same experience because this is what connects us. To honor our 60th Anniversary, we seek to raise $60,000 for ICYOLA's Music Programs. We are kicking off the challenge with our own contribution of $20,000.I ask you to join me by making a donation. Help us keep music and the arts a part of every child's life and a vital part of this community where we live, work, eat and thrive." Jim Poulos Yes... to start to the challenge off, Poulos has donated $20,000 of the $60,000!. Now, it's the community's opportunity to join the challenge. Community members can support by donating themselves and then share the information via social media to others. Donations are accepted by visiting https://www.pannscommunitychallenge.com/ For those that donate $100 or more, there is a PRIVATE RECEPTION EVENT on Saturday, November 10TH, from 5pm - 6:30pm. In addition to donations, PANN'S is AUCTIONING "Colors of Euphony", created by Artist PeQue Brown of The LIQUID Project. This canvas painting was created especially for ICYOLA and is a 32" x 48" mixed media work. The title "Colors of Euphony" is a bit of a double entendre. It depicts three youth, individually passionate about honing their musical aspirations as we imagine them collectively creating an unmatched harmony that could only be called "euphony". The loose, yet fittingly placed painted splashes of colors that flow through out the canvas bring a warmth and cohesive vibrance to the entire composition. Individuals can bid on the painting online by visiting: https://www.pannscommunitychallenge.com/ icyolaevents@ Raising funds for ICYOLA allows inner city youth to express themselves through music, learn various genres of music, and allows young talented kids to perform at a high level. "The Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles seeks to benefit the young people of our community by instilling in them the values that music education provides: self-discipline, self-respect, self-reliance, and the crystallization and pursuit of meaningful purpose. It is only with the support of our network of great neighborhood supporters - like Jim Poulos and Pann's Restaurant - that we have the resources to do the work that we do. Jim and Pann's are treasures to our community. The number of deals that benefit our community that have been cemented over a table at Pann's is incalculable. And Jim has also been so very personally generous, contributing food, money and publicity to organizations like ours. So weoffer him our unequivocal thanks for the privilege of being the beneficiaries of his commitment to community enhancement."
