By: IntegraCare "Courtney is transparent, authentic, and she is very deliberate and intentional in her way of doing business," said Loriann Putzier, COO and president of IntegraCare, which operates The Woods. "She really has all of the pieces and parts moving in the right direction for a common objective." The Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA) presented Bolinsky with a Hero Award as she was named Assisted Living/Personal Care Executive Director of the Year during the PHCA's annual convention held at Valley Forge Casino Resort from Nov. 13-15. Bolinsky was among seven of the commonwealth's best healthcare professionals honored as 2018 Hero Award winners for their extraordinary contributions toward the care of the state's seniors. More than 100 nominations were submitted by facility administrators and staff, and winners were selected by the PHCA awards committee. "My very first thought when I heard that I won this award was that I was so happy for my team because really I couldn't do what I do without my whole team," Bolinsky said. "In this type of community, you have residents, families, a whole bunch of people that you need to be able to bring them together to be able to create a culture. My organization really helps with that. Our mission allows us to put our employees first, and by doing that it allows us to create a dynamic for the residents and their families to keep them happy." Bolinsky emphasized the area of recruitment and retention in her role as executive director. She helped reduce team member turnover by 21 percent between 2015 and 2016. The trend continued with a reduction of 13 percent between 2016 and 2017. "Courtney efficiently leads our team. She builds relationships with her team, the residents and their family members," IntegraCare Executive Director of Sales and Marketing Eric Walker said. "She communicates with her team and creates a positive culture. She certainly is deserving of this great honor." Another focal point for Bolinsky was the Food Service Program, which had faced challenges upon her arrival. The Woods' Food Service Program now has been described as "the best its been in 30 years." "The way that Courtney makes a difference would just be her presence," said Jackie Rivera, team member at The Woods. "She has a very loud personality but in a good way. You know she has a good vibe, very happy, cheerful. Just being around a genuinely happy person, a nice person, makes a difference in your day." Her team members know Bolinsky as a leader by example. She adapts to the situation and is known to fill various roles to assist the team. "Courtney makes a difference in the lives of the residents by knowing them, trying to know something personable about every resident, their family members so she can have good conversation with them," said a team member at The Woods. "They're not just room 421 or Room 604. They are a person with a name and they do have a family."
