By: United Premier Soccer League Based in the middle of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, Arlington FC will begin UPSL play in the Central Conference North Division, and host its home games at University of Texas at Arlington (701 S, Nedderman Dr., Arlington, TX 76019) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards. United Premier Soccer League Central Conference Manager Matt Kahla said, "We think Arlington FC is a natural fit for the Central Conference. Coach Ebby is the perfect candidate to run his own club and after seeing first hand the experience and wisdom he brings, I am excited for him to bring Arlington FC into the UPSL and show what he can do." Ebenezer "Ebby" Fowobaje, 49, is Director of Operations and Head Coach of Arlington FC. A native of Nigeria, Fowobaje was in the Nigerian National Team player pool for the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship and is a former professional player in the Nigerian Professional Football League. Arlington FC Director of Operations and Head Coach Ebby Fowobaje said, "I started my coaching career as a volunteer and people have gotten to know me in Texas, and from there I started my career here because soccer is my passion. I love it and it's what I love to do. I want to help the young ones to see a future career in the game and the UPSL is making a future continue for a lot of players and coaches. This will be a winning club in an great league full of great players and coaches." Fowobaje is the Director of Coaching a Grand Prairie (Tex.)'s Complete Soccer Academy, and was most recently Head Coach of Keene FC (UPSL) during the 2018 Spring Season. He has spent more than 18 years in coaching, with previously stints at Houston's Bellaire High School, Houston's Sugar Land High School and Houston Christian School. "I was hired to coach Keene FC and we put the team together and had a good season," said Fowobaje, who holds an MA in Information Technology from the University of Lagos. "After that I said, 'We need to put something together.' I want to run my own club." Seyi Sowunmi, a registered football agent in Europe, is Co-Owner of Arlington FC. "I'm excited for him to join me as a co-owner because he will be a path to bigger things for a lot of our players, and he's excited to see the talent that Arlington FC will put on the field," Fowobaje said. Arlington FC currently is hosting tryouts, and soon will announce its upcoming UPSL game schedule.
