By: United Premier Soccer League Based in Ventura County (Calif.), Rebels FC will begin UPSL play in the League One Western Conference SoCal Division and play its UPSL home games this season at Royal High School Stadium (1402 Royal Ave., Simi Valley, CA 93065) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards. UPSL League One SoCal Division Manager Oliquer Oliver said, "The UPSL League One SoCal Division is growing steadily and we're excited to welcome Rebels FC to the growing list of new teams. Mario Valladares is passionate about creating experiences for his players, and committed to his team playing at the highest level it can. We think that's a great attitude and a great fit for League One, and look forward to seeing Rebels FC on the field in the Spring Season." Mario Valladares is Founder and Owner of Rebels FC. A native of Southern California, Valladares, 27, took charge of a men's amateur side playing in Real Simi Soccer League (RSSL) and finished third on the league table during the 2018 Spring Season. Valladares and Rebels FC followed that up with a runner-up finish during the '18 Fall Season. Rebels Football Call Owner Mario Valladares said, "I believe joining the UPSL is a good idea for Rebels FC because we're always pushing forward, moving up and this is the right step in doing that. I want to make this club like the experience you have as a kid, and you lose that once you get older, but now we have solid core group of players and and we see UPSL League One as what's next for us. We're excited to get to work to achieve our goals." Valladares was a two-year varsity player at Moorpark (Calif.) High School and the team's Offensive MVP his senior season in '09. A veteran of numerous youth clubs, Valladares played for Moorpark Soccer Club and Conejo Valley United, where he was coached by Eric Wynalda. "(Wynalda) was a big influence," Valladares said. "That was probably the best club team I ever player for and the reason I want to give that experience to others still." Valladares played briefly for L.A. Wolves FC (UPSL) ahead of the '17 Fall Season, and is currently pursuing a BA in Sociology from CSU-Channel Islands. The club is hosting tryouts by request during weekly training sessions, and will announce its upcoming game schedule.
