Young AmeriTowne Brings Hands-on Financial Education to Kansas

LENORA, Kan. - Nov. 29, 2018 - PRLog -- Business leaders, community members and families gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of a brand-new Towne: Young AmeriTowne Kansas.  Beginning spring 2019, Young AmeriTowne will bring a beloved hands-on lesson in free enterprise to students in 28 Kansas counties.

Operating in Denver since 1990, the Young AmeriTowne education program teaches elementary students about economics, civics, personal finance, and workforce readiness in a fun, hands-on way.  The culminating experience is a dedicated day where students run AmeriTowne, a real town that includes a local government, Medical Center, Newspaper and Snack Shop.

Mirroring the Denver program, Young AmeriTowne Kansas caters to communities in the northwest and north central part of the state.  The program is housed at the former Lenora High School.

Nex-Generation Round Up for Youth, Inc. has partnered with Young Americans Center for Financial Education to make this program possible.  "We've been working on this project for the last two years," notes Rich Martinez, President and CEO of Young Americans Center for Financial Education.  "It is really exciting to see the hard work come to life, and we are grateful to Nex-Generation Round Up for their unwavering commitment and support.  Rural communities need visionaries and big thinkers to lead economic development.  This team has created a beautiful home for Young AmeriTowne Kansas that will benefit their local communities in so many important ways."
