Allied Air Conditioning & Heating Corp. Expands Palatine Office

PALATINE, Ill. - Jan. 9, 2019 - PRLog -- The new year brings a milestone 50^th anniversary for Palatine's Allied Air Conditioning & Heating Corporation. To expand its operations as the business continues to grow, Allied has undertaken the first renovation project for its 500 E. Northwest Highway facility since its purchase of the building in 1992. The renovation will create more office space for Allied's staff and operations.

Top 2% nationwide

Founded in Palatine in 1969 by Brent Bauer and Greg Budinger, Allied has continued to grow steadily over the last 50 years. Today, with facilities in Palatine and Libertyville, the business ranks in the top 2% of HVAC contractors nationwide in sales volume. Allied has remained a family-owned and family-operated business throughout its history, with Greg's son Kevin Budinger at the helm since 2011. "We've been proud to be part of the Palatine business community since our very beginning," Kevin says, "and that continues to today."

A growing business expands its operations

In the 1970s, Allied first sold and serviced Carrier and Lennox heating and cooling systems from an office warehouse on Northwest Highway. In the 1980s, operations were moved to a Palatine facility close to the Weber Grill plant. In 1992, Allied ownership purchased the current facility at 500 E. Northwest Highway in Palatine. Originally built in 1952, the facility was first a Nash Rambler dealer and then housed an automotive repair and service shop.

"This expansion will help us continue to grow our business and enhance our ability to serve customers in homes and businesses throughout the Chicago area," Kevin notes while looking toward Allied's upcoming half-century mark. "With updated facilities and more space, the efficiency of our operations will increase."

Renovation work began in November. The office expansion will give Allied staff an additional 1,000 square feet of space, in addition to updated, more efficient HVAC and lighting systems.

Elgin-based Soltys Design Build was chosen to complete the work. Another father-son business with decades of experience, Soltys Design Build was a natural fit. "It's an honor to help Allied, which has been part of the Palatine business community for nearly a half century, expand its operations," senior project manager Glenn Soltys says. Work is expected to be completed in the first weeks of the new year.
