Gallery 119 exhibits Maria Callas photographs by Marilyn Szabo

PHOENIX - Jan. 10, 2019 - PRLog -- Gallery 119 to exhibit Maria Callas Series in a solo exhibition by Marilyn Szabo. The Maria Callas Series by Szabo is a series of photographic portraits depicting the late opera singer in a wide range of emotions. Showcasing a brilliant collection of 30"x40" black and white images representing the various phases of Ms. Callas' personal life. The images result in universal statements about women as artists and the abilities of modern technology to change our uses of traditional portraiture.

Szabo is a creative force in the Arizona arts community for over 25 years, captivating audiences with original imagery through her timeless and relevant photography.Her photographic subjects vary from people to architecture to landscape, and the work has been praised for its depth, craftsmanship and versatility. Maria Callas Series by Szabo exhibition will open to the public First Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 9:00pm with an Artist Reception. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be serviced, plus live music performed by Arizona violinist Telian Dodge. The Maria Callas Series by Szabo will be on display at Gallery 119 from February 1 through March 31, 2019. The gallery will be open for ArtlinkPHX Art Detour March 14-18, 2019.

Gallery 119 is a new edition to the downtown Phoenix art scene. This gallery opened in Fall 2018 by Jo-Ann Lowney and Joel Coplin.This show space is connected to the Lowney/Coplin art studios, offering works by the artists in residence, as well as invited artists.
