Dr. Matt Bogard of Omaha, NE accepts leadership position in Wyman Heights Neighborhood AssociationPhysician Dr Bogard is pleased to join and help maintain the historic Ponca Hills neighborhood (Omaha, Nebraska)
Wyman Heights is a neighborhood with a proud history that dates to 1902 when local real estate investor Henry Wyman began acquiring property on a large hill north of Florence. He planned to develop an elite neighborhood which in 1925 he re-platted as Wyman Heights. Lots began to sell in the late 1920's with sales stymied by the Great Depression. Interest in the neighborhood increased in the years leading up to and after WWII as doctors, lawyers, business owners and socialites discovered the natural beauty of the area. Because of this rich history, Wyman Heights enjoys an eclectic mix of housing styles built over a nearly 40-year span. Many prominent newsmakers in Omaha's history called Wyman Heights home, including Peter Kiewit (founder of Kiewit construction) "My family owned a pharmacy in the area when I was growing up and I came to learn about Wyman Heights while delivering prescriptions, says Matthew Bogard, M.D. "I fell in love with the picturesque views of the Missouri River and the Loess Hills. Neighbors are all so friendly and supportive of each other and our neighborhood in general. I love the landscaping we maintain at the entrance and bus stop as well as the holiday decorations we place every winter."
