The most functional backpack designed by wheelchair users for wheelchair users

A product designed to give autonomy to users with a hand reduced function, is extraordinarily versatile in a wheelchair and is comfortable to anyone who wants it.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 15% of the global population has some disability degree, of them, around 90 millions are users or depends of a wheelchair to move and make their lives.

Motora One, was created by Claudio Arriaza. Who after suffering an accident that left him in a wheelchair and the disappointment for the lack of alternatives to help him in his autonomy, decided to found Motora with his associate and ex college partner Gibran Pichara. Both have been working since 2016 to develop functional accessories that improve the wellbeing of people with disabilities.

After an intense development that based on the founder's own experience that included constant validations and testing of the different prototypes by users with different kinds of disabilities, as well as tests with different models of wheelchairs. The founders proudly say that they have strived in that every detail of the backpack improves the wellbeing and performance of anyone that uses it, through a design that conjugates a series of elements to make this bag an ideal tool in the day to day.

Additionally, Motora has an "S" version for people without disabilities, so they can also enjoy the benefits and comfort that this backpack can provide.

The features of the first product developed by the team are:

Wide handles in different parts for a more comfortable manipulation and in accord with the different possibilities of each user.

Closures and strings that are easy to use by people with low hand function, that are made by reflective material to provide more more visibility and security at night.

Magnetic buckles for a fast and easy way to open and close the backpack.

Straps with a retraible system to adjust them to desired height of the backrest of the wheelchair.

Many pockets and accessible spaces conditioned for every kind of objects and elements like computers, technical supplies and everyday articles.

Besides of a retraible pull out system to ease the take out of your notebook.

The creators ensure that Motora One bring real solutions for an autonomy use and functionality without sacrificing design or aesthetics, contributing to advance in a major adaptation next to a better opportunities and possibilities for people with disabilities.

With this initiative, the founders seeks to motivate those that have a disability condition to  "empower, to leave behind the fears and to go for your objectives and goals, whatever are the circumstances".
