LOS ANGELES - Feb. 4, 2019 - PRLog -- Think you have the voice to be famous newscaster, sportscaster, disc jockey, cartoon voice, or an announcer for commercials? Look no further. "The latest edition provides everything you need to know about breaking into the voice business and how to succeed doing it," explained Lenburg, the author of 35 books and two national bestsellers, in announcing its publication. "The second edition has been amended with material that Gary and I originally intended to include in the first edition but never made the final cut."

Updated with appendices of voice-over workshops and seminars and talent agencies representing voice-over artists and many never-before published illustrations from his personal collection, the second edition draws on Owens' four decades of experience in radio, film, television, commercials, and animated cartoons. Peppered with priceless anecdotes and insider tips from well-known actors, producers, and agents, he gives readers the inside track on becoming a successful DJ, newscaster, announcer, sportscaster, commercial or cartoon voice, or other type of voice artist.

Chapters in the book deal specifically with the unique demands of voice artist. Owens, an inductee into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, offers insightful instruction on how to zero in on and promote your vocal talent; develop realistic career goals and an action plan; produce a demo CD that sells; find and land an agent; write winning cover letters and resumes; ace interviews and auditions; and much, much more.

Considered one of "the hardest working" and most recognizable voice artists of his profession, Owens, who began his career in radio and coined the world-famous phrase "Beautiful Downtown Burbank" long before his success on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, was one of the most sought-after voice talents in the business. In addition, Owens was a top promo announcer for every major network, appeared in 17 motion pictures, lent his voice to numerous videos and DVDs, and appeared on 15 albums and CDs that were nominated for six Grammy awards.  He also served as the master of ceremonies and hosted thousands of Hollywood events, including major movie premieres and charity banquets. Owens died in February 2015 from complications due to diabetes.
