By: United Premier Soccer League Ornelas combines this new role to his responsibilities as General Manager of Joliet United SC (UPSL). United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We are excited that Ulises Ornelas has accepted the position of UPSL Women's Division Midwest Conference Manager. Ulises is very passionate about the game, and the Women's Game and its role with the UPSL. He has a proven track record as a player and coach, and we feel he'll be a natural fit to help manage and grow the UPSL Women's Division in the Midwest as it continues to expand with quality Pro Development clubs." Ornelas, 28, was an NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete and two-year captain at Joliet (Ill.) University of St. Francis, where he earned a BA in History and an MBA in Business Management ('17). UPSL Women's Division Midwest Conference Manager Ulises Ornelas said, "We are here to help the UPSL Women's Division Midwest Conference grow in numbers, strength and credibility. We are here to look for individuals with dreams, coaches and leaders with passion to grow their communities into soccer communities. We will be aiming at different parts of the Midwest, including Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Missouri, to name a few. Women's soccer is growing in the United States at a rapid pace, and we want to be a part of that growth." Lucia 'Lucy' Montano, the Sporting Director for Chicago Women's Premier Academy Soccer League, has agreed to serve as Midwest Conference Assistant Manager. UPSL Women's Division Midwest Conference Assistant Manager Lucy Montano said, "We are proud to be part of this league and be able to contribute to the growth of women's football in the Midwest. I will put 110-percent effort to make this league the best (and) I made sure we have the largest number of women's teams in the Midwest." "We have a great team aligned with Lucia Montano and Jason Almazan to grow the UPSL Women's Division in the Midwest," Ornelas said. "We will let our work speak for itself and we are here to work." United Premier Soccer League The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 400-plus teams targeted for 2018 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.
