Socially Relevant™ Film Festival NY Reveals Sixth Edition Official Selection

NEW YORK - Feb. 6, 2019 - PRLog -- [NEW YORK, NY] SR Socially Relevant Film Festival 2019 (SRFF 2019) unveiled its SRFF 2019 Official Selection in the presence of a group of film critics and journalists at Pisticci Restaurant. The festival's Sixth season brings international and local films, industry workshops and panels, and other events dedicated to social issues to New York. SRFF 2019 will be held from March 15 to 21, 2019 at Cinema Village and neighboring venues. $6 early bird tickets and $100 all-access passes are available now in limited quantities until full price tickets kick-in on February 28.

The Official Selection to be screened in the heart of Greenwich Village covers a diverse mix of seven narrative features, 14 documentaries, close to 40 shorts, and more. Monday March 18, features a Spotlight Screening of the documentary film by Thierry Michel on 2018 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Denis Mukwege and his work. The film is called The Man Who Mends Women and depicts the life of the doctor who risks his life helping women victims of rape in the 20-year war and conflict in DR Congo. The film is followed by a panel discussing the UN SDG's specifically on women in collaboration with the UN.
