NEW YORK - Feb. 9, 2019 - PRLog -- Anna Louise Andersson: can be described as a powerful, multifaceted and sensitive singer. Her style exudes vivid musical colors, strong dynamics and an
array of influences from many genres. The 2016 Hällevik Jazz Fest "Jazz Artist of the Year" paces herself between Jazz, Soul, Funk, Swedish Folklore and an impressive dominance of African music sung in Swahili, Xhosa and Zulu. She studied classical music and performance at the Applied Music Program at Santa Monica College in Los Angeles and went on to finish her Bachelors in fine arts (jazz vocal performance) at the New School University for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York in 2011.  Ms. Andersson studied with legends such as Bernard Purdie, Charles Tolliver, Junior Mance, Reggie Workman and Jimmy Owens.  Anna Louise has performed with artists such as Mark Whitfield, James Genus, James Bradley Jr., Peter Asplund, Donald Edwards, Stacy Dillard, Ronnie Gardiner, Chuck Anthony, Yotam Silberstein, Mattias Nilsson, Rubem Farias, The Stockholm Cathedral Choir, The Eyal Vilner Big band, The Johan Stengård Big Band, and Jack Jeffeŕ's Big Band. An accomplished band leader, she leads her own Quartet, "Anna Louise Andersson & The Fellas", which focuses on bridging the gap between genres by creating songs and arrangements that have the element of surprise and curiosity for the listener.
