Donation to National Autistic Society from Bolton Insurance Broker & nursery children's mental health

BOLTON, U.K. - Feb. 11, 2019 - PRLog -- Stanmore Insurance Brokers and strategic partner myHappymind are delighted to be donating £700 to the National Autistic Society this spring. Stanmore Director, Jackie Hyde was introduced to Laura Earnshaw the founder of myHappymind last year and the pair automatically hit it off. Jackie, whose nursery insurance scheme dot2dot already promotes relevant services into the childcare sector, knew her clients would be interested in the myHappymind programme.

"myHappymind is a curriculum of stories and activities for pre-school children to teach them about mental health, resilience and mindfulness".  Explained Laura, who founded myHappymind in 2016 when her son struggled with the move from nursery to 'big school'. "We also provide a full curriculum for staff to support their mental wellbeing which is so important too". She added.

"Mindfulness and mental health are key priorities in the sector and Laura's programme fit the bill perfectly, I was eager to tell clients all about it" said Jackie.
"I was thrilled Jackie wanted to spread the word on myHappymind to her clients. dot2dot look after over 1800 nurseries across the UK, so this was a great opportunity for us." added Laura.

Not content with helping nurseries achieve their wellbeing objectives, Jackie & Laura also decided this project gave them the perfect opportunity to give something back and help children beyond the nursery sector. Jackie and Laura have both had personal experience with children on the autistic spectrum, so it  was decided that for each dot2dot client that signed up to the myHappymind project, £50 would be donated to the National Autistic Society.

"Children on the autistic spectrum often find the transition between nursery and 'big-school' particularly difficult and the myHappymind programme is aimed at helping all children manage change and better understand their own emotions. The National Autistic Society work with educators to help them make their schools more accessible to children on the spectrum, so to give something to support the children who find this step the hardest, is the perfect fit for us all." said Laura.

dot2dot have been promoting the myHappymind programme to clients for a year through a series of mailshots, meeting and blogs. "As we suspected the nurseries really love the myHappymind platform and for us there is the added bonus that staff get to try out the practice too, we've even tried happy-breathing in our office. It's great to be able to promote something that improves the wellbeing of your clients and their customers." Said Jackie.

"Plus for me it's great to be able to donate to such a well deserving charity." She added.

According to The National Autistic Society, there are around 700,000 autistic people in the UK. Being autistic means individuals see, hear and feel the world around them differently to others. Being autistic can make simple everyday tasks, scary and overwhelming, especially when routines change.
