June 7 is arrival day in Milan in preparation for the June 9 Gran Fondo Milan-Sanremo, a 302km course. Participants transfer that evening to Como to be ready for Il Lombardia, a 247km course the next day. After a travel and rest day comes Liege Bastogne Liege on June 12, the oldest of the Monuments. The next day participants tackle the Tour of Flanders, a 260km route which features the longest, cobbled climb in Flanders, De Oude Kwaremont. Arguably the toughest of the five monuments is also the last, Paris Roubaix on the June 15, the "Hell of the North" at 258km and features 55km of cobblestones. One final evening spent relaxing follows with a fair bit of celebration thrown in for good measure. On Sunday June 16, (Departure Day) participants are transferred to Brussels International Airport for flights home. Sports Tours International suggests booking race packages early.
