Follow on Google News | The AJUSD Student Showcase to Debut April 13 at Apache Junction High SchoolBy: Apache Junction Unified School District The public is invited to attend this free event and show their support for budding K-12 student artists and performers in the District's five schools. Performing arts acts begin at 10 a.m. but visual arts exhibits will be on display by 9 a.m. "We are excited to showcase our students' talents and provide a joyful exchange that helps connect us to our community," said Dr. Krista Anderson, superintendent of Apache Junction Unified School District. "Education is more than preparing for a career; it's about helping students tap into their many talents so they can develop the unique skills they will need to lead happy, responsible and productive lives." This is the first year of the talent show and acts will include (but are not be limited to) solo musicians, singers and dancers, as well as performances by school choral groups, bands, orchestras, and dance groups. A complete agenda of performing artists will be listed prior to show time. Attendees will also be encouraged to learn more about the school's programs, try their hand at creating their own artwork, and chat with students and staff about the arts programs at AJUSD. The food trucks, Luna Street Tacos and Hot Dogs and Brown Bear BBQ are confirmed to sell delicious food at the event.
