Goal Diggers | How to Achieve Your Goal Faster

I believe that we all have this one thing in common and that's this, we all want something. There isn't a person on this planet who doesn't want to accomplish some sort of goal.

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - March 26, 2019 - PRLog -- Yet sometimes life gets hectic and we get distracted, we lose focus and the goal gets pushed further and further into the corner, or we simply put it on the shelf for later, because right now, we've convinced ourselves that we are too busy to focus on it.

Does that sound familiar? Have you ever said to yourself that you simply don't have the time right now to focus on your goal? It's easy to come up with a list of excuses as to why we can't do something. It's not that much of a stretch for us to believe that now is not a good time because of all the other important things going on right now. We tend to default to the part of our brain that lists all of the reasons why we can't do something. The lizard brain (https://www.drjackijones.com/silencing-the-lizard-brain/) causes us to form negative thinking habits which prevent us from achieving our goals.

Form a new habit. Instead of dwelling on all of the reasons why you can't move forward right now, force yourself to think of all the reasons why you can, should and more importantly why the goal you want to achieve is something that you honestly deserve.

Forming new habits can be difficult, that's why for the next 30 days begin by deciding which thoughts you will allow to remain in your brain. As soon as a negative thought enters your mind, immediately counter it with a positive thought. Start today, and be intentional about flooding your mind with positive thoughts. During this next 30 days you will be tempted to think the way you used to, so if you fall back then from that point simply decide to begin again. You cannot fail this challenge, because you can always start over again. Continue on this path, until thinking positively becomes who you are.

As you are forming this new habit make sure that you get clear on why accomplishing this goal is important to you. Having a strong WHY will fuel your desire to continue on the path towards honoring your goal, especially when you are tempted to give up. Having a strong WHY means having a sense of purpose, one which fulfills your life's calling while serving others in some capacity.

Coaching Yourself!

Forming a new habit takes a bit of work, so as you are focusing on all of the reasons why it's important for you to achieve your goal, be intentional about doing something everyday that honors your goal. Here are a few examples of action steps that you can take that say to your brain, and to the world, that achieving your goal is important.

1. Once you are clear on what your goal is, write it down. Writing it down makes it tangible. Write it down on a card and keep it in a place where you can read it often.

2. Read and re-read your written goal often and out loud.  The more you hear it, the more real it becomes. Set the tone of your day by reading it every morning. Read it again in the middle of the day, and then again at night before you go to bed.

3. Take action towards your written goal. Make a phone call, book an appointment, attend an event, read a book or something that has to do with the goal  you want to achieve. Making the decision to take action sends a message to your brain that reaching your goal is most important.

Start. Making. Money.
