Orlando FinTech Startup, Edukate, Named as Finalist in 'Rise of the Rest' Competition

ORLANDO, Fla. - April 4, 2019 - PRLog -- Edukate, a leading workplace financial wellness platform, was named as a finalist in former AOL CEO Steve Case's 'Rise of the Rest' competition. Rise of the Rest will host a pitch competition and award $100,000 to one Orlando-based technology startup on April 29th. Edukate, along with seven other finalists will compete for the prize.

'Rise of the Rest' is a venture capital seed fund started by former AOL CEO Steve Case. The fund was started with the belief that the next big tech company won't necessarily come from Silicon Valley. The 'Rise of the Rest' bus tour with Steve Case is a nationwide effort to work with founders and entrepreneurs in emerging startup cities. The current five-city tour will invest at least $500,000 in local startups through pitch competitions around Florida in April and May.

Case and the seed fund team will spend the week leading up to the pitch event visiting local businesses and holding talks about entrepreneurship. The final pitch competition and accompanying fireside chat with Steve Case and the fund's Managing Partner, J.D. Vance, will be free and open to the public. The event will be hosted at Cheyenne Saloon on April 29th at 7 PM in Downtown Orlando.

Since 2014, the Rise of the Rest bus tour has visited close to 40 cities and invested millions in startups. Other Orlando finalists include AireHealth, Alertgy, Doghead Simulations, FleetZoo, InitWeather, Millebot, and Pangian.
