SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - April 5, 2019 - PRLog -- Cool-ins launches a Kickstarter project for a portable, compact, lightweight, robust, efficient, and inexpensive electric cooler for insulin pens. Link to project is  www.kickstarter.com/projects/236414693/cool-ins

Life-saving insulin must always be kept at room temperature and is therefore a problem for many diabetics when going out on warm summer days. Cool-ins will keep two insulin pens at a safe temperature, and provide peace of mind for 10 hours or more.

Weighing only 214 grams (7.55 oz) and measuring 61 x 76 x 213mm (2.4 x 3.0 x 8.4"), it is the world's only electric cooler that fits comfortably into a purse, or a small backpack.

Cool-ins works using Thermoelectric cooling technology. It is a "real" refrigerator in the sense that it uses electricity to create cooling (i.e. no ice packs).

Cool-ins is superior to the two other alternative solutions on the market today: It is always ready, lasts longer, and provides better cooling compared to ice-pack thermal bags. It is lighter, smaller, more robust, costs less and runs cooler and for a longer time than the heavy and fragile toaster-size, china-made electric coolers.

Cool-ins is composed of a high-insulation Styrofoam core inside a neoprene rubber sleeve. These two parts combine form an impact-resistant, light-weight, rubbery case. These thermally insulating materials minimize the amount of electrical energy needed to cool down the pens and keep them cool, resulting in long battery life.

Cool-ins has a USB connector for plugging into an external battery pack (not included) of the kind made for smartphones. These packs are now very commonly available and very inexpensive. Using these packs greatly lowers the overall cost of the cooler, makes it lighter, and allows more room for heat-insulating material.

When at home or hotel, the cooler can be powered from a phone's regular plug-in charger. When in the car, it can be plugged into a cigarette lighter adapter.

The cooler is available on Kickstarter. It will be sent to Kickstarter backers pledging 85$. Kickstarter campaign ends on May 16, 2019.
