Only two Private Engineering Colleges from West Bengal within Top 150 at NIRF 2019

KOLKATA, India - April 9, 2019 - PRLog -- The State has performed well in the NIRF 2019 India Rankings which was declared by Honorable President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind yesterday. In the Engineering category, only two private engineering colleges made it within the Top 150 Engineering colleges and universities in the Category of Engineering and Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata (HITK) is one of them.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by MHRD and was launched by Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015.

The Framework outlines a methodology to rank colleges and universities in various categories on the basis of the parameters like Teaching, Learning and Resources, Graduation Outcomes, Research and Professional Practices, Outreach and Inclusivity and Perception.

Heritage has also been listed among the I-Stem Institutions which is an initiative of Centre of Nano Sciences, IISc, Bengaluru for 2017-18. I-STEM is a National portal recognized by UGC, DST, MeitY and MHRD and is a gateway which the Researchers can use to locate specific Research and Development facilities across various Institutions in the Country that are listed in the I-Stem portal.

The EDC center of HITK supports budding entrepreneurs and many such Tech ventures and companies have been founded by the Alumni members which are doing well in the global arena. Tech companies like Gyana UK (Founded by HITK Alumnus, Ms. Joyeeta Das who had been featured among the 100 Asian Stars in UKTech 2018, in Forbes magazine among the top business leaders of the world and many more), GENX Technology Services (having clients like Deloitte Consulting LLP USA etc), Codezine Technology Services (awarded as Fast Growing IT Company in the East and a member of NASSCOM), Inswigo and many more such companies are founded by the Alumni members of HITK.

Moreover many of the Alumni members are doing Research and pursuing higher studies in World's Top 20 QS Universities 2019 namely MIT, Standford, Harvard, Oxford, University of London, University of Michigan and many more.
