West Palm Beach's Maycrest Capital Tops the S&P 500 in Q1/2019

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - April 10, 2019 - PRLog -- Maycrest Capital's tactical equity strategy performed well in Q1/2019, posting a gain of 14.95% vs. 13.63% for its benchmark, the S&P 500 Total Return Index. "The U.S. stock market, as well as our Maycrest Balanced Fund Strategy, have provided generous returns since the financial crisis," says Richard Davis, CEO of Maycrest Capital.

"We have seen the stock market become more volatile last year, and many investors are unsure of whether they should exit the stock market. I have heard stories of retirees that sold their stocks on Christmas Eve, unable to stomach the sharp drop in the U.S. stock market that we saw in December."

Outlook for 2019

Davis about his outlook for 2019: "Our model takes into consideration what is happening currently and looks ahead a few months. We don't forecast the economy or the stock market further out; a lot depends on the Fed. At this point, we remain invested in the stock market, but we see some indicators weakening. For example, the employment indicators are getting less favorable. Another indicator we look at is the yield curve, which has flattened and started to invert. We will continue to pay close attention to the macroeconomic environment and the Fed's actions and follow our disciplined approach when making investment decisions."
