Staker Parson Supports Weber State University and Future Construction Professionals

LAYTON, Utah - April 16, 2019 - PRLog -- Staker Parson Materials & Construction, A CRH Company, attended Weber State University for the third annual Design and Build Day & Internship Fair. The event took place at the Davis Campus in Layton, with over 500 students in attendance, and sponsored by various industry leaders. The event gave students the chance to talk to industry professionals about their careers, as well as the chance to experience what they do first-hand.

The Staker Parson team set up three interactive exhibits the students could participate in. The first was a simulator, that allowed the students to operate an excavator. The second was to work with Quality Control Technicians in a lab, performing various tests on aggregates and concrete. The third was an activity that allowed students to operate a mini excavator, moving a ball from the top of a traffic cone to a five-gallon bucket. Staker Parson also supplied concrete for the Hughes Construction exhibit, that allowed students to pour concrete from a mixer truck to a form, then use hand-trowels to finish. Staker Parson Materials & Construction's dedication to Weber State University is a bond that is cherished and constant. From the conception of the Parson Construction Management Program to the support for Weber State's Athletic Department to the Parson Family Scholarship, Staker Parson Materials & Construction highly values education and promotes growth for new employees and existing ones.

Dan Fuhriman, a current employee at Staker Parson Materials & Construction (and soon to be graduate of the Parson Construction Management Program) said, "It's amazing how giving the company (Staker Parson Materials & Construction) is toward the school (WSU). They really are a prominent member of the Weber State family. It makes me proud to work for such a giving company. The Parson Construction Management Program is great because it combines practical knowledge of the industry and a hands-on learning experience. It really allows students to hit the ground running when it's time to enter the field."

"Our industry is a great industry, full of promise and opportunity. Education is a tool that allows us to broaden our horizons and hone our talents. There are so many great career paths available in this industry that can really benefit from those willing to learn. We are extremely proud of the bond we have established with the Weber State family, and we look forward to future opportunities to show support for all of the communities we operate in," Scott Parson, President of Staker Parson Materials & Construction, stated.
