The reference board with new Amlogic S905Y2 has a specification similar to the board with S905X2 SoC, while the reference board is designed for OTT 4K HDMI dongles / HDMI Sticks, and comes with 16GB/32GB storage, 2GB/4GB RAM, USB 2.0 interface, as well as WiFi 2T2R and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

Amlogic S905X2 Reference Board

The reference board with Amlogic S905X2 chipset also comes with 2GB RAM/4GB RAM, 8 /16 /32/64 GB storage, HDMI, USB 2.0 & 3.0 ports, and apparently the same WiFi + Bt 5.0 module. Amlogic S905X2 reference board is designed for 4K OTT TV boxes. With the latest Amlogic S905X2 processor, it support for USB 3.0 and HDMI 2.1 compared with S905X. Users can seamlessly access to what they need from Google play movies. Amlogic S905X2 STB also supporting smart speaker, enables them to enjoy a convenient voice control experience. An interesting fact is that although the S905X2 SoC comes with new Android 9.0 Pie, also the previous S905X SoC after optimization can runs on Android 9.0.

Amlogic S922X Cortex A73/A53 Processor Benchmarked

Amlogic S922X is an upcoming hexa-core processor with four Cortex A73 cores and Cortex-A53 cores mostly designed for devices running Android TV P, but it could also become potentially interesting for development boards and other products like Arm laptops.

Amlogic S922X SoC dedicated for 4K OTT TV Boxes, also runs on Android TV 9.0 Pie. The Amlogic S922X SoC is equipped for a six cores including Quad-Core Arm Cortex A73 and Dual-Core Cortex A53, and a Mali-G52 MP4 GPU. The board showcased at IBC 2018 comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, HDMI and MIPI ( camera interface, maybe for gesture-based controls, facial recognition etc.) interfaces, USB 2.0/3.0 port, and WiFi + Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
