Grammy Winner Headlines Vegas Jazz Eclectic Concert Series

LAS VEGAS - April 20, 2019 - PRLog -- Five-time Grammy Award Winner Billy Childs headlines the popular Jazz Eclectic Concert Series May 17th at The Smith Center.

Childs is one of America's premier pianist, composer, arranger, and producer. The concert series features an eclectic blend of world-renowned artists throughout the year and is co-sponsored by 91.5 FM KUNV radio.

The concert also features a performance by Founders and Producers, Bijon Watson and Bunny Sexton with The Jazz Eclectic Quintet. Special guest Courtney Fortune will round out the evening.

Childs is known for marrying the musical products of his heritage with the Western neoclassical traditions of the twentieth century in a powerful symbiosis of style, range, and dynamism.
Trumpet legend, Freddie Hubbard, first discovered Childs. He was invited by Hubbard on a successful performing and recording tour. Childs has also recorded and performed with a number of influential jazz musicians and artists including; Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, Joe Henderson, J.J. Johnson, Sting, Chris Botti, Alison Kraus, Yo-Yo Ma, and more.
