Santa Ana Resident Honored for Outstanding Work as a Caregiver

SANTA ANA, Calif. - April 22, 2019 - PRLog -- Caregiver Georgina Vera has been awarded the March/April Oliver Halsell Care Award for her longtime commitment to serving others in the care industry. Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary (http://www.dignitymemorial.com/fairhaven-memorial-park-mortuary/en-us/index.page) honors six dedicated individuals annually   for providing exceptional care that helps improve the lives and spirits of everyone they touch.

Vera has served as the Lead Medical Technician at The Groves of Tustin, an assisted and memory care living facility, for the past eight years. She began her career more than 20 years ago after a nurse supervisor encouraged her to become involved in the field due to her desire to help others. Vera always knew she had a calling to help others, this is why she chose to earn her Master's degree in Psychology from Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos in Mexico. (https://www.uaem.mx/)

She's always going the extra mile for her residents and the company," said Fran Fyffe, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Groves of Tustin. "When someone calls in, she will always cover to ensure that the residents' needs are met. Not only is she an inspiration to her residents and their families, but all of our employees strive to be more like her on a daily basis."

Vera was nominated by Fyffe, who praised her for the countless hours she dedicates to residents and her loving nature for those in need.

In November 2019, Vera will be recognized with five other local honorees at the 7^th annual Oliver Halsell Care Awards banquet. Additionally, Fairhaven will donate to Human Options in her name, a non-profit organization in Irvine that provides safety, healing, and a way forward for victims of domestic violence in Orange County.
