Mother's Day Gifts Galore at Morven in MayPre-Mother's Day shopping at Morven in May on May 4 & 5, plus free Museum admission for Mom on Mother's Day May 12
By: Morven Museum & Garden "This year, Morven in May is held in our Colonial Revival Garden and historic grounds and celebrates all things garden, making it a perfect setting for an outing with Mom or a chance to pick up a special Mother's Day gift," Executive Director Jill Barry remarked recently. "Our hourly demos and make & take crafts offer so much to see and do together on the grounds. Plan to come back to tour the Museum on Mother's Day when Mom's ticket is free in celebration of all of Morven's families, past and present." Beginning on Friday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m., the 18th annual Morven Heirloom Plant Sale kicks off with a Members Only Preview. The Plant Sale, curated by Morven's Horticulturist Pam Ruch, features deer-resistant and regionally thriving plants. At 6:00 p.m., a Preview Party will be held in Morven's Colonial Revival Garden and Stockton Center, with tickets starting at $175.00 it is Morven's biggest fundraiser of the year. Guests will be the first to peruse crafts and plants while enjoying music and a buffet dinner. Open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Plant and Craft Sale features a wide range of vendors from rare peonies and unique container plants to custom baskets and garden-inspired jewelry, clothing, ceramics, blown-glass garden ornaments and more. Tickets are $5.00, free for Friends of Morven. Garden art and crafts demonstrations, including basket making by Mary May Baskets, eco-printed scarves by Kathleen Metaxas, slip-cast ceramics by l&m studio, plein air painting by Debra Pisacreta, and bouquet making by Princeton's Sprouts, as well as free hands-on take-home activities including flower wreaths and colorful wind-streamers, will be held both Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. "Paint Out Princeton" plein air artists will be on site in collaboration with the Arts Council of Princeton Refreshments available for purchase from Fork in the Road food truck and Princeton's Milk & Cookies will offer flower-themed treats.
