Follow on Google News | ArtCafe Photography is passionate about preserving Motherhood memories for local familiesAfter a family crisis, Kerstin Becker, a local photographer with a studio in Ashburn Virginia, is dedicated to making sure moms are in photos with their children.
By: ArtCafe Photography "My mom's stroke three years ago was a wakeup call. I realized how few photos I had of the two of us together," said Kerstin Becker, owner of ArtCafe Photography, an Ashburn-based photography studio. Becker said she now treasures these pictures, but it has become her passion project to make sure that mothers and children have photos taken together. She wants to make sure that they have portraits that they can pass down through generations. Leading up to Mother's Day, ArtCafe Photography is offering special Motherhood Sessions as part of their ArtCafe Couture line. "Honestly, I barely had any photos of her because my mom was always hiding from the camera. And so was I," Becker said. As her love of photography grew, Kerstin took photos of her children and her husband – everybody and everything, but never wanted to be in any of the pictures herself. "I completely understood the women who came to my studio over the years and only wanted photos of their little ones," she added. "They all had their reasons," she said. "They needed to lose a few pounds first, their hair was due for a cut, they weren't dressed for photos, they'd do it next time. Sounds familiar, right?" After her mother's stroke, she said, she changed her thinking and changed the way she deals with doubts and shyness from her portrait subjects. "We should not deny our children the special memories of being held in their mother's arms, laughing with them, spending time together," Becker said. "We don't create these images for us, we do it for our children and grandchildren. They don't care if we put on a few pounds, have wrinkles, or if our hair shows a sign of gray – they'll see love, care, and how safe they felt in their mother's arms." ArtCafe Photography's Motherhood Sessions celebrate mothers and their children with portraits that capture the delight and joy of this special bond and preserve the beauty and perfection of this deep and lasting relationship. The Motherhood Sessions are not simple, quick photo shoots, Becker emphasized. She seeks to build rapport and trust with her subjects and provides them in her studio with dresses, outfits, and accessories. She also includes professional hair and makeup. Details on the Motherhood Sessions are available here: https://splashmarcom.lpages.co/ "I always start with a consultation, where we talk about every detail from clothing to investment," Her goal is for mothers and children to enjoy the session, so that their personalities and affection comes through in the finished portraits, turning moments into memories. Kerstin works with her clients to create a shared vision, capturing a very personal moment in the lives of the children and mother. "We meet again for the presentation of the final portraits, which is something I find to be most gratifying, I love to see the happiness on the mother's face," she said. "I know how important it is to capture this precious relationship between mother and child. It is extremely rewarding." # # # ArtCafe Photography is an Ashburn, Virginia-based photography studio where photographer Kerstin Becker helps families keep their history alive by creating highly personalized and artistic images.
