20/20 Optometry of Silicon Valley Re-Launches Sight For Kids ProgramSan Jose business teams up with patients to donate frames to youth in the Bay Area
By: 2020 Optometry of Silicon Valley Located at 2555 North First Street in San Jose, 20/20 Optometry recently re-launched its "20/20 Sight For Kids" program. This year the business is teaming up with patients and promoting "Buy One, Give One." With every 2nd pair purchase (without insurance), a pair of glasses will go to a deserving child in need. "We established the program in 2003 as a way to give back to the community that has supported us for the last 19 years," said Dr. Jeanette Lee, owner of 20/20 Optometry and graduate of UC Berkeley Optometry School. "We have been donating eye exams and glasses to underprivileged children, foster kids, or families with financial hardships. We believe every child deserves the gift of good vision, no matter the circumstances." Whether due to the loss of a job or a run of bad luck, sometimes families are unable to make regular annual eye exams. That's where "Sight For Kids" comes in. When the child receives the glasses, the generous patient receives a "Thank You" card from the child and 20/20 staff acknowledging the donation. Dr. Lee said this year 20/20 Optometry is inviting vendors to join the program and thanked Idealoptics, Ono Optical and Zero G Eyewear for donating frames to the cause.
