Canada has died at 41 in his family home of Lithonia, Georgia. He lost his battle with mental health issues and commited suicide. Per his request, family and friends gathered Saturday to "Celebrate His Life". Reuben wanted everyone to be comforted with happy memories. In his public life, Reuben was known as a successful patent attorney who changed careers becoming the CEO of Canada Enterprises and Creator of Jin+Ja. His unique elixir won the sofi award for "Outstanding Cold Beverage of the Year" at the Specialty Food Association in New York City.His story of career change won the 1st national "My Story My Ad" contest worth $15,000 He gained national acclaim with a focus on CNBC's NBR (National Business Report). Reuben Canada was featured in a 5-part small business series with Gannet's USA Today These mediums leveraged his presence and influence in local ABC & FOX news, as well as for national and international television shows such as "the Doctors" and CNBC's "West Texas Investors Club". "So sad, so surprised by the news as are Julie,Tom, Lou, and Regina-- A strong advocate for entrepreneurship and empowerment, Reuben Canada was featured at the Black Enterprise business summit and on Philadelphia ABC news for Laurel-House Women's Shelter which served domestic violence victims. Reuben Canada was an undergraduate of Swarthmore College and received his law degree at Howard University, Washington D.C. In his private life, he cherished his family and friends. With a humble disposition and proverbial speech, he uplifted and empowered many with their goals and dreams.
