Follow on Google News | DTR Inc's Music Radio Station, Rock on Neon Implementing a New ScheduleRock on Neon Radio's motto is "some that you recognize, some that you've hardly even heard of" which is a quote from the song Celluloid Heroes by The Kinks.
By: DTR Inc Starting Monday, May, 6, 2019, the station is expanding its programming. When a specific program is not scheduled, the station is on freestyle play. With people able to listen to their choice in music almost whenever and wherever they want, Rock on Neon Radio has a unique and fresh approach to its programming strategy. Rather than being a typical radio station, Rock on Neon Radio is following the format of the successful non-major network television stations. Therefore, the radio station will be program-centric rather than tune in any time and you will hear a different mix of the same music. And just like those television stations, the shows will be scheduled weekly and will either be singular events or show marathons. So, while the station wants listeners who tune in whenever they want to listen to music on a radio station; the station is also set up for "appointment listening" where people tune in to hear a specific show, whether a singular event or to listen during one of the marathons. Here are the shows: Rock on Neon Live - the station's signature show, a live broadcast; the show's host is Jay Goldberg and these shows are about more than just the music (Jay teaches rock music history courses) Saturdays, 10:00 AM EST – Noon EST Spotlight on Indies - songs alternate between a song by an indie artist and a song by a more established artist Mondays, 6:00 AM EST – 10:00 PM EST Saturdays, Noon EST – 4:00 PM EST Sci-Fi Music Theater - songs dealing with science fiction and fantasy Mondays 10:00 PM EST – 11:00 PM EST Bedtime Stories - songs that tell a story, a good way to end your day Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, 11:00 PM EST – Midnight EST Decades – music from the mid-60's thru the current decade in the following pattern: two from the 60s, indie, two from the 70s; two from the 70s, indie, two from the 80s; two from the 80s, indie, two from the 90s, two from the 00s, indie, two from the 10s Then the pattern repeats Tuesdays, 6:00 AM EST – 10:00 AM EST and 2:00 PM EST – 4:00 PM EST Lilith Fair - female solo artists and bands with female lead singers; songs that fit on alternative, new wave & adult alternative radio stations; indies and established artists Tuesdays 10:00 AM EST – 2:00 PM EST and 5:00 PM EST – 8:00 PM EST Club Rock on Neon - all extended and remixed songs, most are songs you can dance to if you choose Tuesdays, 8:00 PM EST – 11:00 PM EST Countdown Catchup - songs on Rock on Neon Radio's Top 1000 Songs of All Time List (as of July, 2018) Wednesdays, 6:00 PM EST – 8:00 PM EST Take Over Shows - indie artists play their songs and other songs on the station's server that get their stamp of approval Wednesdays, Karen Sucher, 8:00 PM EST – 9:00 PM EST Thursdays, Melody Stuart (Remerge Band), 4:00 PM EST – 5:00 PM EST Thursdays, Ginny Foley (Randy Moore), 7:00 PM EST – 8:00 PM EST Cover Songs - just like it sounds, cover versions of songs and I'll bet there will be songs on the show you didn't know were covers Wednesdays, 9:00 PM EST – 11:00 PM EST Thursdays, 5:00 PM EST – 7:00 PM EST Pre-Show - a show to ensure the station remains DMCA (U.S. copyright law) compliant by playing songs that will not be on the live show Saturdays, 6:00 AM EST – 10:00 AM ESR Freestyle Play - all songs on the station are eligible for the show and selected at random All other times More new shows are in the pipeline.
