Dr. Jonathan D. Leffert Elected AACE Chancellor

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - May 6, 2019 - PRLog -- Jonathan D. Leffert, MD, FACP, FACE, ECNU, was elected Chancellor of the American Association of Endocrinologists (AACE) at AACE 2019, its 28th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Los Angeles this month. As Chancellor, Dr. Leffert will participate as an officer of AACE's Board of Directors for the 2019-2020 term. From 2017-2018, he served as AACE President.

Dr. Leffert earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern-affiliated hospitals (Parkland Memorial Hospital and the Dallas VAMC). He received the AHA Bugher Fellowship in molecular biology, which merited the NIH Physician-Scientist Award in 1989. Dr. Leffert also completed a clinical fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.

Dr. Leffert was in solo private practice at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas before forming North Texas Endocrine Center in 2007, where he is now Managing Partner. Dr. Leffert is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern. He also remains active in the teaching program at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas, participating in clinical and grand rounds.
