CANNES, France - May 13, 2019 - PRLog -- Monaco Better World Forum (MBWF) today announced its return to Cannes during the 72nd Festival de Cannes to gather and celebrate the world's most distinguished and prominent leaders committed to creating positive impact for our oceans. The Monaco Better World Forum in partnership with The Chambers Of Ecology and Renewable Energies of Monaco, Green Cross Foundation and Mr. Jean Michel Cousteau is planning a two-day event that will take place from May 18 - 19, 2019 and will include an awards gala to celebrate the tireless and inspiring work of those who have created influential action for the oceans and territories most at risk of climate change, rising seas, and acidification.

"Ocean Impact Day is both a celebration and a call to action for our precious oceans," said Manuel Collas De La Roche, Founder and President of MBWF.

Monaco Better World Forum Awards 2019

Ocean Impact Day will honor key political and celebrity figures committed to positive ocean action during the awards gala dinner on May 18, 2019, at 8:00 p.m, Martinez Hotel.

● The United Arab Emirates will be awarded "Country of Honor", for its Climate Plan commitment to climate action that goes hand in hand with continuous economic development. His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed al Zeyoudi Minister of Climate Change and Environment.

● The "Ocean Conservationist Hero Award" will be posthumously awarded to documentarian Rob Stewart, for his heroic legacy and final film Sharkwater Extinction. His parents and Producers Brian and Sandy Stewart and Patrice Theroux, executive producer will receive the award.

MBWF Press Conference to be held at Terrace 314 Hotel in Cannes in France on May 18 at 11 a.m.

Amazing Auction: Two seats for a Submarine Expedition in BVI


The Ocean Impact Day Gala on May 18 will also feature a special auction event with the Aquatica Foundation for the opportunity to participate in a scientific research expedition to the British Virgin Islands in July 2019, including a dive with Aquatica Submarines, the company bringing Public Sub-sea exploration to the world, five days of luxury accommodations, and a subsea expedition with Sir Richard Branson and surprise celebrity guests. Participants will help in the identification and tagging of Sharks and conduct a Reef Restoration survey with Dr. David Vaughn from Plant a Million Corals.

Further activities planned for Ocean Impact Day include a MasterMind brunch on May 19, from 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. with an objective to build upon President Macron's "Paris One Planet Summit" within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The group will identify mechanisms to connect global elites with emerging youth movements through the MBWF "Digital Environment Engagement Platform (DEEP).

MBWF is also announcing the launch of the Better World Coin in partnership with SmartBlock Technologies to assist charitable organizations in their fundraising, traceability of donations, data security and reduction of intermediary costs.
