Follow on Google News | ![]() Bosco Tech to Host Baccalaureate & Commencement Exercises on June 1By: Bosco Tech The Baccalaureate Mass will be held on the campus mall, with the traditional conferral of diplomas and graduation ceremony immediately following. This year's graduation keynote speaker is Roger Gibbs. A 1974 graduate of Bosco Tech's Electronics program, Gibbs is the Deputy Director for Mars Exploration at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Graduating senior Nicolas Gutierrez will serve as valedictorian at the ceremony. The festivities will feature the school's traditional alumni reception line, where past graduates congratulate and welcome each new member into the ranks of the Bosco Tech Alumni Association. "We're extremely proud of this graduating class," said Principal Xavier Jimenez. "And we are confident in their future success. Each graduate has earned acceptance, and in many cases, very generous scholarships, to four-year colleges and universities across the country, including schools like Johns Hopkins University, the University of Notre Dame and Penn State. To date, our seniors have garnered about $4.7 million in scholarships, with more coming in each day." Bosco Tech is an all-male Catholic high school that combines a rigorous college-preparatory program with a technology-focused education. The innovative curriculum allows students to exceed university admissions requirements while completing extensive integrated coursework in one of several applied science and engineering fields, including the newly added Biological, Medical & Environmental Technology (BMET) program. The school boasts a college acceptance rate of 100 percent, with the majority of graduates pursuing STEM-related post-secondary majors.
