Forever Faithful Documentary Film Now Streaming on Multiple Channels

Ruiz is a documentary filmmaker, actress, and dog-lover based in Los Angeles, Calif. Her first documentary, Black Beauty Breed (http://blackbeautybreed.com/), profiled the Rottweiler and highlighted their intelligence and history as a working dog. During the filming of Black Beauty Breed, Ruiz learned that the Rottweiler and other large breed dogs are prone to bone cancer. She was deeply affected when her own dog, Samson, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and created Forever Faithful to help raise canine cancer awareness and support canine cancer research initiatives.

Forever Faithful introduces the stories of five dogs and their stories of resilience, survival, and service to their communities. In addition, the film explores the bonds between humans and their pets and the journey of love and loss of a beloved animal.

"Forever Faithful highlights the advances being made in the field of canine cancer and the extraordinary veterinary treatments available to dogs," stated Ruiz. "But further, it opens the discussion on the incredible bonds we humans have with our animals, and how to cope with the loss we feel in losing our beloved pets. In 2018, the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema awarded Forever Faithful  as "Best Documentary Short" and recognized  Ruiz with the "Mary Austin Award for Excellence in Directing Documentary" award for her work in directing Forever Faithful.
