Goldsboro Wayne Branch NAACP to Hold Press Conference

GOLDSBORO, N.C. - May 20, 2019 - PRLog -- There will be an announcement by the Goldsboro/Wayne Branch of the NAACP of it's intent to launch a full investigation into the City of Goldsboro City Council's attempt to censure and oust Councilman Antonio Williams at a press conference today, May 20, 2019, at Rebuilding Broken Places, 2105 North William Street, Goldsboro, NC  27530 at 4:30 PM.

The Goldsboro Wayne Branch of the NAACP, the largest civil rights organization in the nation, stands with the citizens of district one in support of their duly elected City Councilman Antonio Williams as their representative on the City Council of Goldsboro.

We object to the multiple attempts to remove Councilman Williams from his seat as the district one representative.

This latest in many attempts by this council to censure him and ask for a recall of 2015 election would render his voice and the voices of the citizens in his district as null and void.  It is an attack on his rights and the rights of the citizens that elected him as their representation.
