Volunteers to transform the home of longtime Central District Resident

SEATTLE - June 6, 2019 - PRLog -- Homeowner Zelda, who is 58 years old, lives alone in her Central District home. Her husband Edgar, who was a US Air Force veteran and beloved pastor, passed away in November of last year. Together, Edgar and Zelda raised two sons in their home, which they have owned for nearly 30 years. Since the passing of their father, Zelda's sons have moved into the home temporarily to support their mother while she grieves the loss of her husband, but are soon moving out and haven't had the skills to address many of the repairs that Zelda needs to remain safe and healthy in her home. To lend their expertise and give Zelda the boost she needs, volunteers from Farwest Tenant Improvements will be repairing and replacing kitchen appliances, fixing interior and exterior leaks, installing handrails and bathroom grab bars, cleaning gutters, and many more weatherization, energy efficiency, safety, and health focused repairs at entirely no cost to her.
