Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School seniors offered $442,984 in scholarships

Academic focus, college prep classes help students 'find their own way up'

PITTSBURGH - June 17, 2019 - PRLog -- The Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School Class of 2019 has been offered a combined $442,984 in scholarships as the students prepare to further their education at the college level.

     A total of 34 students comprise the senior class at the charter school located in downtown Pittsburgh.

    "At Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School we focus on helping our students find their pathway to success and encourage them to tackle challenges and adversity in the classroom and life," said Kathleen Garland, principal and CEO of Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School. "Our students' academic success has led to many of our seniors earning scholarship funds that will enable them to transition into college life with less of a financial burden."

    Below are the names of the top six Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School scholarship winners:

·         Amyjhnai Gore, Clarion University, Wheeling Jesuit University, Robert Morris University, and La Roche University.

·         Mariah Greene, Point Park University and La Roche University.

·         Brittany McNeal, Clarion University.

·         Daemon Choat, Point Park University.

·         Ramir Burks, Clarion University and Wheeling Jesuit University.

·         Maurice Harvey, La Roche College.

    "We are proud of all of our students, and especially this senior class," Garland said. "We wish the Class of 2019 best of luck and success in their future endeavors."

    Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School has a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio, which enables the staff to provide students with the individualized attention they need to help them create their pathway to achieve their dreams.

    This year's Class of 2019 builds on the established success of Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School's past students. For instance, all 39 students in the Class of 2018 were accepted to at least one college.
