Pines of Mount Lebanon to host Veterans Aid seminar

PITTSBURGH - June 28, 2019 - PRLog -- The Pines of Mount Lebanon will hold a Veterans Aid & Attendance Benefit seminar from 10 a.m. to noon on July 18 at the senior living community.

    "This event is being held to provide our residents and their families with information on their eligibility for Veterans Aid benefits which they might not be aware of," said Jackie Hainer, Executive Director at The Pines of Mount Lebanon. "These benefits include pharmacy assistance and rental assistance for senior living communities such as personal care and assisted living."

    "These benefits will allow our residents, their spouses and families to continue in their current residences with the support systems they have in place and are familiar with," Hainer continued.

    John Cyprian and Shawnee Young of the Butler County Veterans Services will be the featured speakers during the event. Cyprian and Young will discuss the details of the Veterans' Aid & Attendance Benefit and how it relates to long-term care and personal care home residents. They will provide insight on the "do's and don'ts" to applying for VA benefits.

    "John Cyprian and Shawnee Young graciously have offered to come to The Pines of Mount Lebanon and share their valuable knowledge and insight," said Stephanie Steiger, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Pines. "They will discuss the details of the Veterans Aid & Attendance Benefit and how it relates to long-term care and personal care home residents."

"This will be a learning event to let people know what they need to bring and all info they need to start applying for benefits," Steiger continued. "John Cyprian, Shawnee Young and the Butler County Veterans Services staff have also agreed to return for a claims day in August."
