Follow on Google News | Kickboxing Champion Kathy Long to Present Seminar on Sparring Concepts at Masters Hall of FameBy: Kamatoy Media Group Long, who was known as "The Punisher" during her time in the ring, began her martial arts training in Aikido, earning a First Dan in the art. She later studied Chinese Kung Fu San Soo, earning an Eighth Dan and the title of Master in the style. She has also studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, Tae Kwon Do, Kali, and Wing Chun Kung Fu. During her time as a professional kickboxer, Long posted an overall record of 18-1, with victories over Denise Taylor (twice), Ramona Gatto, Bonnie Canino, Canadian champion Nora Daigle, French champion Dani Rocard, and Japanese star Kyoko "Kamikaze" Miyazaki. She made a return to the ring as a boxer in the late 1990s, followed by a return to kickboxing and MMA. In addition, Long has worked as an announcer for Ultimate Fighting Championship and was Michelle Pfeiffer's stunt double for the 1992 film Batman Returns. "It is an honor and a privilege to have Kathy Long presenting at our Masters Hall of Fame Seminars," says Chairman Dr. Daniel Hect. "Kathy has been a huge influence in the martial arts, and we are excited to have her with us for our 20th-Anniversary celebration." The Masters seminars are free to Masters Guests and Inductees.
