Waterbury's 2019 Brass City Brew & 'Que, Saturday, September 7, Rain or ShineThe non-profit Main Street Waterbury organization will host its 14th annual fundraising event from 12 to 5 PM that will feature 125+breweries and brewpubs and will attract over 2,000 attendees from along the eastern U.S. seaboard.
By: Main Street Waterbury The non-profit Main Street Waterbury (MSW) will utilize proceeds from the event to support their year-round revitalization programs and initiatives. The 2019 BCB&Q will be held Saturday, September 7, 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. when more than 2,000 beer aficionados will gather. This year's celebration will feature 125+ breweries and brewpubs showcasing 250+ domestic and international brews. The fundraiser will also feature live music, Pit Master competitions, craft beer and barbeque seminars, home brewers competition, BBQ food vendors, and more. The BCB&Q fundraiser is supported by Presenting Sponsor Blasius Chevrolet of Waterbury and Performance Sponsor The City of Waterbury Arts & Tourism Commission. The event is hosted by Nutmeg Fine Wines & Spirits with media support from iHeartMedia. Over the past 13 years, the BCB&Q has evolved into one of the largest in New England and provides an exceptional opportunity for beer-lovers to sample an exciting variety of craft brews. Advance ticket price is $35 and $40 at the gate. Purchase of tickets in advance is highly recommended as past events rapidly sold out. A Very Intimate Preview (VIP) Session will be held 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. with a maximum of 700 attendees for an additional $10, for a total of $45 in advance and $50 at the gate. Ticket holders will be welcomed to enjoy a Home Brewers Showcase featuring regional up-and-coming craft brewers, mini-seminars, hearty BBQ food offerings from local restaurants and food trucks, and a Downtown Bartenders Showcase. Event host, Rob Gardner, owner of Nutmeg Fine Wines & Spirits of Waterbury, is coordinating the participation of the many brewers, brewpubs, distributors and brewery representatives. The Pit Master competition is being produced by Kevin Egan, a member of the New England Barbecue Society (NEBS) who is schooled in smoking meats and other related techniques. There will be no charge for designated drivers. Attendees must be 21+ w/a valid State-issued photo ID or Passport. Food, water, and other non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Limited Edition event t-shirts and Limited Edition 5 oz. tasting glasses will be available for purchase.
