Follow on Google News | Seven Time Grammy Winner Al Jarreau Receives Tribute AlbumThe highly anticipated tribute album to the seven-time Grammy Award winning music legend has been released.
By: C-Style Media Group Super-producers, David Foster, Jay Graydon and Jerry Hey, returned to re-create several of the songs they wrote or co-wrote with Jarreau including, Mornin ', Breakin Away, After All and Roof Garden. Other artists who came together for the album include Grammy winners Regina Belle, Marcus Miller, Arturo Sandoval, Bob James, Kirk Whalum, Randy Brecker and Grammy-nominated artists, Dave Koz, Will Downing, and Gerald Albright. The album also includes the talents of Bobby Lyle, Greg Phillinganes, Rick Braun, Nathan East and Paul Jackson, Jr. Chris Walker, who enjoyed a successful solo career with Top Five and Top 100 Billboard-charting singles 'Take Time' and 'Giving You All My Love' before joining Jarreau as his musical director and bassist, also penned two new songs (Phenomenon and Jarreau) in honor of his mentor and friend. During his appearance at the 2014 Pescara Jazz Festival, Jarreau hailed Chris Walker as "The Best Singer This Side Of Venus," gladly sharing his stage with Walker in concerts across the world. Walker believes that the album will be cathartic; not only to Al's family, friends and colleagues but to his fans as well. Walker also revealed that he struggled with the decision to include the opening track, a personal voicemail he received from Jarreau only days before his passing.
