New Children's Book Promotes Being Just Who You Are & Births a New Animated Series

CHICAGO - July 22, 2019 - PRLog -- Meet Zuwena! An adventurous 6-year-old with a BIG imagination and the star of "A Monster or a Microwave" and Zuwena the Animated Series by Tephra Miriam. Here is what Tephra had to say about her new book and animated series.

"Zuwena is the symbol of all things fun and big dreams. She is pretty much who I was as a child. I wanted to write something that black and brown children could see themselves in. It's also a daddy-daughter tale and I hope that it's something that dads especially can read with their kids. This story comes alive in the audiobook and I had the pleasure of launching Zuwena the Animated Series by-way of this story. It's full of songs, rhymes and big adventures. One of the main songs in the series is called "Because We're Friends" and my hope is that this work helps to bring communities together. Play and imagination have the power to help us dream and literally lift us from where we are and put us on a path to a brighter future."

About the Author

Tephra Miriam is an avid thought leader, author, graphic artist, photographer, musician, activist, and entrepreneur with a passion for change. Tephra grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to Chicago, Illinois when she was 18 years old, where she currently resides. Her search for adventure took her far and wide at a young age and she continues to mentor, learn, work and speak all over the US.

As a product of 12 years of homeschooling, Tephra started out at Harold Washington College in Chicago, Illinois before transferring to DePaul University and receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Communications and a Master of Arts degree in Applied Professional Studies with a concentration in Authorship and Entrepreneurialism.
